Brooke's Story
My first week of college, I happened into a yoga class. I couldn't touch my toes, couldn't find anything remotely resembling stillness in a lunge, and struggled to balance on one foot. And... I found my mind and body completely captivated for that 60 minutes - something I instantly fell in love with. Years later I heard a definition of meditation as "the body and mind having the same experience" and I realized it was exactly that which had first hooked me into the yoga practice. A decade later I can say that I still crave and relish those moments body-mind connection, both on and off the mat.
In the summer of 2018, I began my Yoga Teacher Training under the mentorship of Jessie Fletcher and became a 200 hour Yoga Alliance certified instructor in the school of Dorje Yoga. Since then I've taken a wide variety of additional trainings, including a 100 hour "Trauma Informed Practice" program with Lydia Zamorano, Sarah Kinsley, and Nicola Mosley. Additionally, in the fall of 2022 I started a graduate program in Mental Health Counseling, which has added a meaningful layer into my understanding of yoga and mindfulness.
I offer community yoga classes, private yoga sessions, YouTube classes, meditations on Insight Timer, event-specific yoga classes, teacher mentorship, and general consulting sessions.
One theme that has emerged in my work with folks is the desire to become "unstuck" in their lives. I do not promise to have all the answers but I do offer to walk alongside you and use this shared practice as a place for exploration.
In all my offerings my goal is to facilitate experiences for you to show up to your life aligned and empowered to be your best self, embodied ॐ
